It’s no secret that we are not the biggest fans of DIY websites and marketing. And no, it’s not just because that is our business. You usually don’t ask a pet groomer to change your oil. Sure, they might be able to do it, but they might also do something they shouldn’t! And don’t get me started on the cheap, fly-by-night agencies…

When you walk into Shop A, it looks spotless. There is a modern desk where you are greeted by a well-groomed person with a friendly smile.
Now you walk into Shop B. This place looks like it might have been built by the owner, who is not a builder. There are old stains on the carpet from who knows what kind of soda pop was spilled years ago. As you look toward the front desk, you notice a lot of old papers scattered everywhere, along with empty cans of soda pop. The person behind the desk is standing there, just talking about himself, from the moment you arrive. And he is anything but clean.

We went back and forth about this one. Much like the design portion, SEO is best left to the professionals. But I must admit that SEO Wizard’s AI makes SEO effortless. In fact, we use it in conjunction with our professionals on our DFY jobs.
This tool has some cool features. It tells you what you should get done every week to meet your goals. You can tell it how many hours you would like to spend on your SEO per month, and it will prioritize the actions you need to take according to the time you can spend.
On top of that, it even holds your hand through many of the how-tos on getting the work done.
And to top it off, it has a great keyword research function and makes excellent reporting.
But of course, there are downsides to not having a professional doing the work for you. First, if you plan to take the DIY SEO route (btw, this tool can be used for your in-house team if you need it), it does take time. And being a business owner doesn’t leave much of that for you.
Another downside is getting the ever-sought-after backlinks. These are critical to your SEO efforts. This software tells you where to go and how to get them, but it doesn’t get them for you. You have to do the work. And this part is very tricky.
There are many other things, but if you were to not go with an agency, I would say this is the next best thing. Really, I mean, this thing is super cool.

This one is another topic of time and strategy. Both are required to succeed, and many people don’t have either.
